My friend Bari J. is having a sew-along where we all make our own Holiday in London duffle bag. I've been a little intimidated by duffle bags but after looking over the pattern I'm very confident this is do-able. I hauled a couple of these around at Quilt Market last year when I travelled with Bari and they are reallllly nice. This duffle bag is a great size and is perfect for the gym, travelling, or just carrying around while looking cute.
I'm taking mine to Disneyland! I decided to go with some louder colors because you can get away with that at Disneyland, right? I have this brilliant green home dec fabric designed by Anna Maria Horner that I snagged at our local "buy-the-pound" fabric store. I've been saving it and now I know why.
I downloaded the pdf pattern after purchasing it here. I love clear and concise patterns. I don't think patterns should require a support group and as I read over this pattern I realized I can totally do this even though it includes things I've never tried before.
Bari recorded video instructions to help along the way (there are a few fun tricks you can learn along the way while watching). I'm starting here at Part 1 today. Follow Bari on facebook here, and on Flickr here. This will be fun!
